Why did I create TSC LIFT?
I didn't want others to have to go through the journey I did.
My first step into fitness came from a lack of confidence in myself, depression and anxiety.
When I started my fitness journey at 23, I was overweight and had no idea that the choices I was making were promoting the way I looked and felt. I was doing all the "right things" like choosing the salad over the sandwich, buying the granola bars that said high-fibre, and following a cardio routine. Despite these things, I continually gained unwanted weight and wasn't feeling any better.
So, I hired a personal trainer and began lifting & learning about nutrition. Slowly I began noticing changes in both my physical body and my mental health.
Fast forward a couple years, I decided to compete in a bikini competition.
Why? Because I had always idolized those small feminine frames and never thought I could look like one of them. So I did my best to transform into that…
But looking like those girls I idolized came with a cost.
The over-training and under-eating that it took my body to achieve was a recipe for
✓ Malfunctioning hormones
✓ 24/7 hanger, mood-swings
✓ and a loss of menstruation.
I spent years in that very dark cycle.
A few years later I hurt my back, causing me to be unable to do my job, lift weights, or carry out some daily activities I once did.
I didn't know it at the time but my injury was my biggest blessing.
That injury forced me to look inside myself, and reflect on WHY I began my fitness journey in the first place.
I realized I started because I was looking for confidence in myself that I didn't have. I was looking for something to put my focus into that made me FEEL better.
So I decided to take my fitness back to the basics. I created a plan that focused on the goal of how moving and nourishing my body made me feel rather than how I looked.
I began to feel strong!
I began to feel confidence in myself!
and I began to feel happier!
The exact opposite of how I felt working towards the goal I thought I wanted.
Through this journey I learned that being small will never beat that empowered feeling of being strong.
As someone who's been through these ups and downs, it's become my passion to help put an end to women taking the wrong turns I did. I created this program to teach you that working towards your goals should be the BEST part of you journey!
